Lorry Loader

Lorry Loaders (commonly known as “Hiabs”) are a type of crane mounted on heavy goods vehicles. The lorry loader allows many types of loads to be loaded onto/unloaded off of the lorry without the need of a separate piece of equipment, ie a forklift or a crane.
Lorry loaders continue to have greater lifting capacities and greater reach than before and are often capable of unloading the goods straight into final positioning.
Lorry loaders should only be operated by persons who are trained and competent to do so. Therefore, holding this qualification will complement the skill-set of those who work in the road transport industry and particularly those who deliver construction equipment and materials.
